The Town of Hinton, Oklahoma is seeking bids for Pivot Grading at the Prison Pivot. Conclusion of question/answer period 4:00 P.M., May 26, 2020
The primary objective of the project includes grading the South Pivot land application site to
remediate all slopes within the irrigation area (any area that receives water from the center pivot)
to five percent (5%) or less per ODEQ regulations. Outside of the irrigation area, slopes can be
tied into existing grade at a 3:1 (33%) slope. The land application site and proposed grading plan
is shown in Appendix A. Bidder will submit a final report or other acceptable documentation
demonstrating that the five percent slope requirement has been met throughout the site. This
documentation may require survey if requested by Owner.
• The proposed grading plan for Site 1, shown as South Pivot in drawings, carries the
following estimated cut and fill volumes to reach the desired five percent slope:
o Approximately 127,600 CY of Cut
o Approximately 5,300 CY of Fill (assuming 10% fill factor)
o Net Cut= 122,300 CY
• The proposed grading plan for Site 2, shown as West Pivot 2 in drawings, carries the following
estimated cut and fill volumes to reach the desired five percent slope:
o Approximately 267,560 CY of Cut
o Approximately 207,926 CY of Fill (assuming 10% fill factor)
o Net Cut= 59,633 CY
• Construction Sequencing - The Owner desires for Site 1 (South Pivot) to be completed first as
soon as possible to provide more operational flexibility.
• Maintaining adequate stormwater controls to prevent stormwater runoff from leaving the site.
• Completing all services and submitting all deliverables associated with the project within 60 days
of Notice to Proceed.
