As of January 6, 2023, an engineer has been selected. This project is in the final design phase but on hold due to funding. A firm timeline for bidding and start of construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Dover is requesting proposals for consulting services for the reconstruction of approximately 2,300 feet of Central Avenue from Silver Street to the intersection with Stark Avenue and East Watson Road. This section of roadway acts as an entrance corridor to the downtown from the south. The Consultant will provide engineering services for the existing conditions, investigation, design, specifications, and bid clarifications for the project. The project entails roadway reconstruction, including curbs and sidewalks, water main replacement, drainage improvements, camera inspection of existing sewers and smoke testing of both sewer and drain lines to detect any illicit discharges or unpermitted sources of inflow. Project will also require investigation into existing roadbed materials, currently a mix of concrete and thick asphalt pavement sections, and provide recommendations on reusing materials to create a suitable road base. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
