Completed plans call for the addition of a 7,320-square-foot fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a 6,100-square-foot fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility. This project includes renovating the approximately 6,100 square feet existing fire station, expanding it by approximately 5,820 square feet, and adding 1,500 square feet covered reloading area. When complete, the building should represent a finished structure and meet the requirements of an essential services building. The City desires a metal building with a life span of more than twenty (20) years, constructed of materials that present a pleasing appearance yet require low levels of maintenance, and afford reasonable security for the occupants and the property contained therein.
