Renovation of a transportation facility in Okeechobee, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Project Description: In general, to provide and install a replacement Automated Weather Observing System with Present Weather Sensor and Thunderstorm Detection Sensor (AWOS-III P/T) and remove the existing AWOS equipment and components from existing mounting structure. A certified check, drawn upon a state or national bank, or a bid bond issued by a corporate Surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Florida, in a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid, made payable to the Okeechobee County Board of County Commissioners, is required with each bid. This is a federally funded project and the use of certified disadvantaged businesses (DBE) is encouraged. The DBE goal for this project is 10% of the total contract value. A Performance Bond for an amount not less than 100% of the bid price, a Payment Bond for an amount not less than 100% of the bid price, and Insurance per the County Insurance Requirements will be required from the selected bidder within 15 days after written notice of the award of contract. The General Contractor will provide additional information including, but not limited to, a list of similar projects constructed within the past five (5) years, client references, and an audited or certified financial statement or other financial references deemed appropriate to Contract Award. The system shall be installed in accordance with and as approved in Federal Aviation Administration Advisory Circular 150/5220-16E, latest version and FAA Order 6560-20C, or latest version. Okeechobee County accepts no responsibility for any expense related to preparation or delivery of proposals. Bidders will confine their bids to the project in its entirety. Partial bids will not be accepted. The Owner reserves the right to hold all bids for a maximum period of one hundred eighty (180) days prior to awarding the contract or rejecting all bids. If in the opinion of the bidder, inconsistencies appear to exist in the specifications, it is the bidders responsibility to seek clarification from the Engineer. Additionally, it is incumbent upon all bidders to conduct a personal investigation as to requirements of the County. Each bidder will submit with this bid evidence that the bidder is licensed to perform the work and services or qualified by examination to be so licensed. No proposal may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of proposals for a period of one hundred eighty (180) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, accept Bids in any order or combination, accept or reject portions of Bids, make modifications to the work after bidding, and waive any formality in the Bids if they deem it in their best interest to do so.
