The City is seeking proposals and qualifications from engineering consultants to assist in the development, and design of Nutrient Reduction Improvements as specified in the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System. At a minimum, the proposal shall include the process, protocols, and discussion of deliverables that the Consultant would leverage towards this effort. The proposal should include a timeline, which outlines major milestones and any interface processes that the Consultant would propose in order tomeet the overall request. The North Topeka Wastewater Treatment Plant (NTWWTP) is located at 1600 NW Button Rd, Topeka, KS 66618. The plant currently processes an average of four (4) to six (6) MGD (million gallons per day) of sanitary sewage, with a permitted average daily design flow of twelve (12) MGD and a peak daily design flow of twenty-four (24) MGD. The functionality at the facility includes the following processes: 1. Bar Screens 2. Vortex Grit Removal 3. Primary Clarification 4. Complete Mix Activated Sludge 5. Final Clarification 6. Chlorination/Dechlorination 7. Sludge Thickening 8. Sludge Blending and Dewatering As of June 2, 2021, the design firm has been awarded.
