Site work, renovation and addition to a conference / convention center in Montreal, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a conference / convention center; for the renovation of a conference / convention center; and for site work for a conference / convention center.

The project consists of a partial covering of the Ville-Marie highway and an expansion of the Palais des Congrès de Montréal (Montreal convention centre). The aim is to increase the adjoining exhibition area on the same floor, from 19,000 m2 to 30,000 m2. The total area of the building would drop from just under 31,000 m2 to just over 49,000 m2. With this expansion, the establishment will rise from third to first in Canada in contiguous exhibition space, which will allow the Société du Palais des Congrès de Montréal to remain competitive and continue to grow in a highly competitive market. TIMELINE: The project is in a preliminary stage and is included in the Quebec treasury boar list of major projects with a status "under study". The owner has awarded the firm tbmaestro Inc for the preparation of the building condition report, is finishing the project opportunity dossier preparation and expects to submit it to the Quebec competent authorities late 2024. Scope of work, construction budget and timelines of the project realization have yet to be finalized. Owner expects that construction will start in 2025 or 2026 and will be completed in 2027. Note. Preliminary estimates have shown that the project value may be in the range between $221.7 and $332.6 million, without taking into account the costs of recovering the Ville-Marie expressway.
