As of August 11 , 2020 project was awarded to Wayne Meyer Electric Inc , xfer call to Adame and said that awarded amount of $130,157.60. The project will start tomorrow and end date is to be determined. The general nature of the work on which proposals will be received consists of the following: Replacement of the city's street lighting along Main Avenue south of Railroad Street (approximately two (2) blocks) to the County Courthouse with new decorative lighting. Involved is the furnishing and installing of street lights, poles, foundations and concrete work, underground electric cable and conduit, boring, and other excavations. All of the above work and equipment shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications and proposed form of contract now on file in the office of the City in said City of Parker, South Dakota, by this reference made a part hereof, as though fully set out and incorporated herein. Bids shall be made out on a bid form furnished by the Engineer and shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bank draft payable to the City of Parker in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, said check to be drawn on a state or national bank or by bid bond in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid, issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota, said bond to be made payable to the City of Parker. The bid security must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. Such bid security shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) days after the award of contract. Payment to the Contractor for said improvements will be made from cash on hand or such other funds that legally may be used or obtained for such purposes. Estimates will be paid monthly by the City to the Contractor in accordance with the following schedule: Ninety percent (90%) upon certification of units completed; ten percent (10%) not less than thirty (30) days after final completion and acceptance. The construction shall be performed upon a Notice to Proceed issuance. Substantial completion of the project shall be no later than September 30, 2020. See the "Construction Schedule" section of the General Items portion of the Technical Specifications for special instructions relating to staging of construction for this project. The Council reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date proposals are received and no proposal may be withdrawn during this period. The Council reserves the right to reject+any or all bids and enter into such contract as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
