This contract is for the replacement of the South Wilberforce bridge located on South Wilberforce Road, approximately 0.5km east of Loop Road (County Road 648), in the community of South Wilberforce, County of Haliburton. The work generally consists of the following: a) Traffic control measures, including road closure and local roads detour signage and advanced notification signs; b) Environmental and watercourse protection systems required for the removal of the existing structure and construction of the new bridge, including silt fence barriers, temporary creek/watercourse coffer dam and diversion systems (designed by contractor), temporary shoring / sheet pile systems (designed by contractor), temporary containment / platform systems (designed by contractor) and temporary dewatering/unwatering systems (designed by contractor); c) Removal and off-site disposal of the existing single lane single span concrete TBeam bridge measuring approximately 13.1 metres long with a span of approximately 12.0 metres and an opening height of approximately 2.5 metres, including footings, abutment, beams, diaphragms, deck, wing walls, barrier wall, curb, asphalt, guide rail and all associated elements; and d) Supply and construction of a 12.2-meter single span, two lane concrete bridge with W690x125 steel girders set on cast-in-place concrete semi-integral abutments supported by deep HP310x110 pile foundations, concrete wing walls, concrete deck, concrete approach slabs, concrete curb, thrie beam bridge barrier, water proofing, asphalt wearing surface, minor approach road reconstruction, asphalt paving, steel beam guide rail and site restoration.
