Deadline for Vendors to Submit Vendor Clarification Questions and 'or equal' Substitution request(s) to approved manufacturers. January 15, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., local prevailing time. The Contractor shall be responsible for replacing the existing roof over the Fire Station 204 located at 900 Second Street, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314. The Roof Consulting Services, Inc. (RCS) drawings and specifications provided as separate PDF download shall apply to this project. The scope of work has been taken from the RCS specifications as an overview and description of the work, to familiarize the prospective Bidder with this project. The project consists of the replacement of all roof areas on the Fire Station 204 located at 900 Second Street, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314. All work shall be in accordance with the drawings and specifications prepared by RCS 1. Mobilization and General Conditions/ Project Coordination; (Please see section 01140 of the attachment J-8 - Project Coordination Part 1 - General) 2. Demolition and construction debris removal; 3. Supply of roofing materials, which will be composed of, but not be limited to the following membrane portion of the roof: a. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) with barriers and underlayment; b. Insulation board; c. Hard board and PVC to cover; ( For details please refer to attachment J-8 PROJECT MANUAL section 01010 - Project Description) d. Pipe flashing; e. Cap flashing; and 4. Labor / Installation of roofing materials for all membrane areas (For details please refer to attachment J-8 PROJECT MANUAL section 07311 - Asphalt Shingles. 5. Supply of roofing materials, which will be composed of, but not limited to the following for the dimensional shingle portion of the roof:(For details please refer to attachment J-8 PROJECT MANUAL section 07540 - SARNAFIL ADHERED PVC ROOFING SYSTEM a. Thirty (30) pound felt / underlayment vapor barrier; b. Weather guard self-adhesive type water barrier; c. Three (3) tab dimensional asphalt shingle; and d. All necessary flashing to waterproof roof transitions and surfaces. e. Ice and Snow guards, save existing and re-install. 6. Labor / Installation of roofing materials for all dimensional shingle areas;(For details please refer to attachment J-8 PROJECT MANUAL section 07311 - Asphalt Shingles. 7. Supply and installation of gutter repair materials, including the following: ;(For details please refer to attachment J-8 PROJECT MANUAL section 3.5 Installation of Gutters) a. Additional metal components; and b. Interior expansion joints and topical coatings / sealers. 8. Electrical Work to include the following: (For details please refer to attachment J8 PROJECT MANUAL section 01010 Subsection F. a. Removal and re-installation of conduit hangers; b. Removal and re-installation of communications equipment; and c. Removal and replacement of any electrical component of support system. 9. Plumbing Work to include the following: a. Additional roof drains that may need to be replaced; and b. Venting or overflow piping that may need to be replaced. 10. General Painting a. Any rusted unit or support system not being replaced; and b. Any roof top unit and combined base.
