NJ TRANSIT is requesting Proposals from firms with the intention of awarding a Contract to the organization whose qualifications and Proposal, offers the best value to NJ TRANSIT. Background information, project description, instructions for the Proposers and evaluation criteria are included in the enclosed material. The New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ TRANSIT) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit professional firms for Construction Management Services for the Distribution Generation Component Power Project. NJ TRANSIT will be installing a distributed generation components power system at seven (7) locations on the NJ TRANSIT System, including bus maintenance facilities, train stations and ferry terminals using the Design/Build process. The following is a description of the Project that will be put out for bidding. The Distributed Generation Program will ensure that all participating locations have the ability to provide their own electrical power, for a period of not less than 14 days, in the event of a utility grid disruption. This will include, but is not limited to, automatic transfer switches, natural gas generators, generator enclosures with required foundations, connections to existing electrical services (on both the Utility side and on the facility side of the meter), remote access to the Distributed Generation equipment at all seven (7) participating locations, development and implementation of prescribed cyber security protocols for the previously mentioned remote access, installation of a Flywheel Energy Storage System solely for (Wayne Bus Maintenance Facility), installation of solar carport canopies, (Wayne Bus Maintenance Facility), complete remediation and repurposing of the Newark Penn Station Old Boiler House and modifications to the Newark Penn Station electrical system All firms submitting Proposals for this project must have related experience of a similar magnitude.
