The City of Pomona is seeking informal quotes from qualified general contractors for comprehensive construction services for circulation area renovations for the Pomona Library Facility Improvements Project, in accordance with the Scope of Services or Specifications stated herein. Earlier this year, the City contracted with D_space, an architecture firm Irvine, CA specializing in interior design and redesign solutions. The project involves selected interior renovations to the entry/exit and circulation area of the existing building per the completed construction plans included herein. A new circulation desk is currently being fabricated per plan by a separate fabricator. This Informal Request for Bids is for fully coordinated construction services, including the retention and management of subcontractors for all necessary construction trades in conjunction with this project. The estimated cost of construction is approximately $200,000, including contingencies. The selected contractor will be expected to take an active role in developing value engineering strategies to ensure the City can maximize the scope of the project within the available budget. Earlier this year, the City, via the Pomona Public Library Foundation, was awarded a grant from the California State Library Board for facility improvements consisting of: the replacement and reconfiguration of the Circulation Desk; the redesign of the interior Circulation Area, including the entrance/exit areas; a proposed Library materials security tracking hardware solution; the repair/replacement of flooring; relocation and/or installation of all necessary electrical and data ports serving the Circulation Area; and other improvements, as funds allow.
