Site work for a water / sewer project in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
**As of August 25, 2020. Project has been awarded. Bid amount received $1,009,052.30. The proposed project consists of the construction of approximately 1600 lineal feet of 12 inch PVC water line, 3400 lineal feet of 8 inch PVC water line and 6200 lineal feet of 6 inch PVC water line including railroad bores, directional bores, valves, fittings, fire hydrants, service reconnections, and connections to the existing water distribution system. All proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond on the form contained in the proposal, bank cashier's check, bank draft, or certified check, payable to the City of Mt. Vernon, for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The City of Mt. Vernon reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bid should it consider same to be in its best interest. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the bid opening. All work will be constructed in accordance with the "Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois", latest edition.
