Site work and new construction of a military facility in Aklavik, Northwest Territories. Completed plans call for the construction of a 99,360-square-foot, two-story above grade military facility; for site work for a military facility; and military facility.
Defence Construction Canada - Construction of a new Modified Design/Build Headquarters Building for the 1st Canadian Rangers Patrol Group as well as elements of Joint Task Force North, in Yellowknife - approx. 9,200 sq m. Project includes an Indigenous Benefits Plan as part of the design and construction contract, which requires the contractor to engage with Indigenous groups to provide business opportunities. The new facility will include offices and classroom space for administrative and training purposes, an assembly space which will double as a drill hall, and space for vehicle maintenance and warehouse storage. TIMELINE: A recent ground breaking ceremony has taken place. All trades have been tendered and awarded; awarded trades will not be released for publication. Construction is underway and is expected to be completed late 2026; timelines are subject to change. The project has been mandated to achieve a minimum of LEED Silver Certification. *Project has been estimated at 136 million.
