The Project consists of constructing the following major work items: Installing approximately 5150 linear feet (LF) of 6-inch diameter and approximately 2040 LF of 8-inch diameter PVC water main via open cut methods, including all necessary valves, appurtenances, and connections. Installing approximately 310 LF of 6-inch diameter and 170 LF of 8-inch diameter PVC water main via trenchless methods, including all necessary valves, appurtenances, and connections. Removing and installing approximately seven fire hydrants. Installing approximately 71 service connections Repairing or replacing all pavement and vegetation to original or better conditions. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis. All listed iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials. The deminimis and minor components waiver apply to this contract. As of September 22, 2020, the Owner is in negotiations with the low bidder to reduce the costs since the bids were over estimate.
