The Board of Education of Calvert County, Prince Frederick, MD, is soliciting proposals from pre-qualified Contractors to provide bids for the Chiller and Kindergarten Rooftop Unit Replacement at Sunderland Elementary School Certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) are encouraged to respond to this solicitation notice. An MBE goal has been established of 12% for this project. A minimum of 48-hour notice must be provided for any site visit requests by a bidder for site-visit Any bid or Bid Document question shall be addressed to Mr. Sheldon Taylor, Supervisor of Finance - Procurement, at taylors@calvertnet.k12.md.us. The deadline for submission of questions is 4:00 pm on Monday, 23 January 2023. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond from a surety company acceptable to the Board of Education, properly executed in form to the Board of Education for not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid. Bid Bonds may be returned to all bidders, with the exception of the awardee, within 48 hours after the Board of Education has awarded the contract. After award and within 10 days thereof, the successful bidder shall deliver to the Board of Education, Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of his contract price covering faithful performance of the contract. The State or Maryland Prevailing Wage Program does apply to all portions of the Work. See Specification Section 00 73 43 - WAGE RATE REQUIREMENTS. The Work to be performed under this Contract shall commence on date indicated below. Specific start, milestones and intermediate completion dates are defined in detail in Specification Section 00 73 00 - SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS. On or about 20 June 2023 Substantial Completion shall be achieved no later than 332 calendar days after the date of commencement or date indicated as follows: NO LATER THAN 17 May 2024, except as hereafter extended by valid written Change Order by the Owner. Should the Contractor neglect, refuse, or otherwise fail to complete the Work within the time specified for Substantial Completion, the Contractor agrees, in partial consideration for the award of this Contract, to pay the Owner the amount of Zero Dollars ($0.00) per calendar day, without limitation.
