Description

Site work and paving for a civil project in Utica, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The project consists of supplying the labor, equipment, and materials necessary to remove and replace twenty-four (24) fire hydrant assemblies and twenty-two (22) water main valves of various sizes and configurations, located in forty-six (46) separate locations. Work includes piping, fittings, pipe restraints and other necessary appurtenance for a complete installation for each location. Other various related site tasks include but not limited to: backfilling, testing of backfill compaction, pavement removals and replacements, pavement testing, traffic control, water main and hydrant disinfection, testing, grading and seeding. Pre-Bid Meeting --The pre-bid conference for the Hydrant and Valve Replacements project will be combined with the Citys other pre-bid conferences for the 9th Street Pump Station Upgrade project and the New Water Supply Well No. 13 project. As of September 8, 2020 the bids were officially rejected. Following the vote it was decided that City workers can start on it by working a couple of Saturdays a month to save money. Bumgarner said with 25 valves and 25 hydrants it may be a slow process but could be done.
