Project is no longer needed.** Description of Work: The work for which proposals are invited will consist of, in general, but shall not be limited to, the following: This project involves approximately excavation, earthwork, and mass grading; removal and disposal of unsuitable material; the creation of eight soccer fields, parking lot and access road asphalt paving, preparation of base; construction of a concessions building, construction of a gazebo, construction of a playground, hot-mix asphalt binder and surface course placement for a parking lot, access road, and walking path; concrete work; storm sewer improvements; water main improvements; sanitary sewer improvements; electrical improvements, parking lot and athletic field lighting improvements, irrigation improvements; restoration; and other appurtenant work. Bid Security: Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check or Certified Check in the amount of ten (10) percent of the total bid made payable to the City of Litchfield, Illinois shall accompany the bid. Construction Schedule: The Contractor shall commence the work to be performed under this Contract on April 1, 2024, following the execution of the Contract. The work shall be prosecuted in such a manner and with such a supply of materials, equipment and labor as is considered necessary to ensure its completion according to the time specified in the Contract. The Contractor shall be substantially complete by November 30, 2024, and final completion by May 30, 2025. Substantial Completion is defined as all improvements except final turf growth. Final completion is defined as restoration and punch list items. In case of failure to complete the work on time, liquidated damages shall be assessed in accordance with Article 108.09 of the Standard Specifications. Rejection of Bids; The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to award all or part of a Contract, and to make such awards as are in the best interests of the city.
