Please note, Local Business and Location preference do not apply to this contract: Miscellaneous Design Contract for Lap Projects- Melbourne Southwest Trail Project and the Nasa Boulevard Sidewalks Project. The City of Melbourne is requesting a Statement of Qualifications for professional engineering services related to the design of the Miscellaneous Design Contract for Local Agency Program (LAP) Projects. Prime Consultant must be "FDOT Pre-Qualified" in: Group Work 3:Type of Work 3.1: Minor Highway Design, as defined in the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) Rule 14-75. One project includes the Melbourne Southwest Trail consisting of approximately 3.7 miles of asphalt or concrete 10-ft multi-use trail with pedestrian bridge structure(s) along the City's existing canal right of way. The trails consist of three segments that will include a phased construction, including traffic safety elements such as mid-block crosswalk improvements, utility relocation, street lighting and drainage modifications. Public involvement, environmental considerations and permitting will also be required. The other project is the NASA Boulevard Sidewalks Project consists of approximately 8,210 linear feet (1.6 miles) of new sidewalk construction along NASA Boulevard between Gateway Drive and Eddie Allen Road. The estimated total construction cost for both projects is $3,808,000. This is federally funded project through the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) and is subject to the Stewardship-Oversight Agreement between the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). FDOT has oversight responsibilities over the City's Federal-aid projects and City must ensure that the consultant contract is administered in compliance with all applicable Federal and State statutes, rules, and regulations.
