Handcox Sr. Water Treatment Plants: construction of a new polymer storage and feed building, installation of polymer feed and transfer pumps, electrical and instrumentation equipment, modifications to the existing potable water systems, and modifications to the existing chemical building electrical and instrumentation systems. Contract Time is of the essence and all Work shall be substantially completed within two hundred seventy (270) Calendar Days after date specified in the Notice to Proceed, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. Final completion shall be achieved within forty-five (45) Calendar Days after substantial completion The Work of this Contract includes the following at the Albert R. Davis Water Treatment Plant: a. Construction of new polymer storage system and feed building consisting of two dual line concrete polymer storage tanks, an electrical/instrumentation controls building, and open air feed area with canopy. b. Construction of polymer feed system with polymer feed pumps, transfer pump, sump pump, and miscellaneous piping. c. Installation of new polymer feed system electrical and instrumentation equipment. d. Installation of twelve polymer feed points at existing flash mix basins and recarbonation basin discharge boxes. e. Modifications to existing potable water system in flocculation drive gallery. f. Modifications to existing chemical building electrical and instrumentation system g. Replacement of galvanized steel service/non-potable water piping with copper piping in the flocculation drive gallery. h. Replacement of chemical building exhaust fan and ductwork in the chemical building. 2. The work of this Contract includes the following at the Berl L. Handcox Sr. Water Treatment Plant: a. Construction of new polymer storage system and feed building consisting of two dual lined concrete polymer storage tanks, a polymer feed room, and electrical/instrumentation controls room. b. Construction of polymer feed system with polymer feed pumps, transfer pump, sump pump, miscellaneous piping. c. Installation of new polymer feed system electrical and instrumentation equipment. d. Installation of three polymer feed points at existing raw water pipes in raw water pipe gallery and clarifier outfall box. e. Modifications to existing potable water system in chemical building. f. Modifications to existing chemical building electrical and instrumentation system. g. Modifications to existing coagulant feed system (ferric sulfate) and raw water pipe drains in raw water pipe gallery
