Sealed Bids will be received by the Purchasing Department, Parish of St. Mary, Louisiana, for the construction of Landfill Access Road Improvements including: removal of asphalt; excavation and embankment; erosion control measures; Class II base course; aggregate surface course; superpave asphaltic concrete; cold planing asphalt pavement; drain pipe; catch basin; temporary signs and barricades; bedding material; pavement markers; pavement striping; hydro-seeding; construction layout; saw cutting; geogrid; and, other work in connection therewith at the Harold J. "Babe" Landry Landfill in Berwick, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. To qualify to bid, each bidder shall be a properly licensed contractor in accordance with LA R.S. 37:2150-2192 for the classification of: Highway, Street, & Bridge Construction; Heavy Construction; or Municipal and Public Works Construction. Contractors desiring to bid should submit evidence that they hold a license of proper classification in full force and effect at the time the bidding documents are requested from the ENGINEER. The Contractor shall show his license number on the bid form and the sealed envelope containing the bid. Bidding Documents shall not be issued later than 24 hours prior to the hour and date set for the opening of Bids. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the ENGINEER. Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to the St. Mary Parish Government in an amount of at least five percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, or a Bid Bond in accordance with LA R.S. 38:2218. This check or Bid Bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will execute the Agreement, should it be awarded to him. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause. In accordance with LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the advertisement for bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
