**As of October 05, 2020, the awarded amount is $824,996.85. The project for which Bids are being solicited is subject to the applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Each Bid must be accompanied by bid security payable to Hanover Township, Lehigh County, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid price in the form of a Certified Check, Bank Check, or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Article 5 of the General Conditions. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids and to accept any Bid which in its judgment is in the best interest of the Owner. No Bid will be accepted if obtained from sources other than the issuing office noted above. Clarification Deadline: 8/12/2020 3:00 PM This work will be performed for the full depth paving construction of Troxell Street section at the location shown on the drawings and at the Postal Road Maintenance Facility. SCOPE OF WORK - The intent of these specifications is to describe the work necessary to construct the 2020 Road Program consisting of the projects listed above. A more detailed listing of the construction requirements is described in the following technical specifications. The contractor shall provide all traffic control, signage, flagmen, etc. necessary to comply with PennDOT Pub. 213, latest edition, for each location. This cost shall be incidental to the pay items. The Contractor shall supply all materials, labor and equipment necessary to properly perform the respective items of work. Any apparatus, material and labor not specifically mentioned or shown on the drawings which may be found necessary to complete or perfect any portion of the work in a substantial manner and in compliance with the requirements implied or intended in these specifications shall be furnished by the Contractor without additional compensation. This shall include all materials, devices and methods peculiar to the apparatus or system furnished and installed by the Contractor. All Work will be completed within Ninety (90) calendar days from the date when the Contract Time commences to run as provided in Paragraph 2.03 of the General Conditions. Liquidated Damages Owner and Contractor recognize that time is of the essence of this Agreement and that Owner will suffer financial loss if the Work is not completed within the times specified in paragraph 3.1 above, plus any extensions thereof allowed in accordance with Article 12 of the General Conditions. They also recognize the delays, expense and difficulties involved in proving a legal or arbitration proceeding the actual loss suffered by Owner if the Work is not completed on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty), Contractor shall pay Owner Five Hundred and 00/100 dollars ($500.00) for each day that expires after the time specified in Paragraph 3.1 for completion and readiness for final payment. A. CONTRACTOR shall furnish performance and payment Bonds, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price as security for the faithful performance and payment of all CONTRACTOR'S obligations under the Contract Documents.
