Demolition, site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the demolition of a fitness / recreation center; for the construction of a 13,577-square-foot, four-story above grade fitness / recreation center; and for the renovation of a 4,320-square-foot, three-story above grade stadium.
Construction of a John Innes community recreation Centre replacement (targeted net zero energy/net zero emissions building) and façade upgrades, integrated into the existing Moss Park arena. The project also included will be tree planting and landscape improvement. The new John Innes Community Recreation Centre is targeted to be a Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB)/Net Zero Emissions Building. 12 short-term bicycle parking spaces are proposed at grade level. TIMELINE: Community Engagement began in 2023. As of January 2024, Site plan submission for a replacement arena has been made to the city of Toronto. Detailed design is complete. Working drawings will proceed spring/summer 2024 based on approvals. Tender is expected spring/summer 2025 pending approvals. Construction will proceed summer 2025 through fall 2027. *Timeline is subject to change and is separate from the Metrolinx Ontario Line subway line and station construction scheduled to happen during the same time frame.
