Renovation of a mixed-use development in Monroe, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 950-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.

Project consists of a 2-story Concessions/Ticketing building with restrooms and storage (approx. 950 SF), located at the proposed softball field improvements. Renovations include boys and girls PE locker room and laundry room. The bleacher replacement at the football stadium will include the replacement of bleachers at the Visitors side. Partial exterior door and window replacement are also proposed. Bids will be received for General Contract (all trades). Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and meet specified qualifications and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. Performance Bond and separate Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract sum, shall be required to be furnished at the time of signing the contract. The provisions of the Agreement include stipulations that the work be completed within the Contract Time expressed in consecutive calendar days. The Agreement will also include a stipulation that Liquidated Damages accrue per calendar day for each day the Project remains incomplete beyond the Contract Completion Date. The Union County Board of Education has adopted a Minority Participation Policy compliant with the North Carolina State Minority recommendations. Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to participate. Submit bid security with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids.
