Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 50,000-square-foot, one-story above grade library; and for site work for a library.

Bid Release #1 which includes the following scopes of work: Concrete Foundations, Building & Site Concrete, Unit Masonry, Structural Steel, Ground Improvements, Site Grading & Utilities, Landscaping & Site Restoration. The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: Bid Release 001 - Earthwork, Site Utilities, Ground Improvements, Landscaping, Cast-In-Place Concrete, Structural Steel and Unit Masonry. The jobsite address is 1101 6 th Avenue Marion, IA 52302. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Performance Bond and Material Payment Bond will be required in the full amount of the contract. Work shall commence no later than October 1, 2020 and be completed per the Bush Construction master schedule. The City of Marion reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days after receipt of bids, and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Items incorporated into this project are exempt from State of Iowa Sales Tax. A sales tax exemption certificate will be submitted to the Contractor by the City upon approval of the contract and the identification of all subcontractors. Sales and use taxes should not be included in the bid prices. All bidders must be Equal Opportunity Employers.
