Site work and paving for a civil project in Amherstburg, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The Town of Amherstburg wishes to replace the existing bridge located on Concession Road 5 North, approximately 1.20km south of North Townline Road. The work consists of replacing the existing bridge with a new bridge structure. Existing bridge shall be completely removed including foundations, footings, substructure and superstructure and asphalt paving. Existing bridge is a three-span cast in place concrete structure with two support piers over the river Canard. Existing super structure consists of a cast in place concrete deck over five arched cast in place concrete T beams spaced at 1.50m, in each span. Total length of the structure is approx. 32.40m with approx. 10.60m length in each span. New replacement structure shall be a two-span bridge with steel H-pile foundation, concrete footings, and substructure. Superstructure shall consist of prestressed precast box girders with a concrete topping. New concrete parapet walls and approach slabs shall be constructed and waterproofing and asphalt paving on new deck shall be installed. Existing watermain shall be re-routed prior to the commencement of installation of new structure. Documents are available at https://amherstburg.bidsandtenders.ca/
