Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Downers Grove, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The project involves removing and disposing of two existing prefabricated bridges and the restoration of an Iron Bow Truss Bridge. The Iron Bow Truss Bridge and one of the prefabricated bridges are currently in-use and the remaining prefabricated bridge is currently on the ground and not in use. The existing in-use bridges will be removed from their existing abutments which will be demolished. The Iron Bow Truss Bridge will be restored per the plans and placed back in service on new abutments. At the location of the existing in-use prefabricated bridge, a new prefabricated bridge will be placed on new abutments. Questions shall be directed to Chris Welch at cwelch@dupageforest.org or 630-871-6411. All bids must be received prior to the date and time shown above. No late bids will be accepted. This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. The contractor shall also abide by the employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act (30 ILCS 570, sec 1-7). Consideration of contract award will likely be made on Tuesday March 15, 2022. The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
