Renovation of a residential development in Agawam, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
**As of September 10, 2020, the project has not been awarded. The project will be awarded in the next board meeting on September 21, 2020.** A. The general scope of work consists of complete removal of up to two layers of asphalt shingles and replacement with new asphaltic fiberglass shingle roofing system including but not limited to asphalt roof shingles, waterproof membrane underlay, felt underlay, pre-finished aluminum drip edge, ridge vents, hip shingles, starter strips, fasteners, plastic cement and other items required for a complete watertight installation, at the buildings shown on drawings. B. Provide new minimum 50 year warranty, asphalt fiberglass shingle roof assembly, complete and integrated with the existing components to remain. C. Temporarily disconnect attic duct work from exhaust caps; replace roof caps with new aluminum caps, as specified and reconnect attic duct work, including all new clamp fasteners, duct insulation and accessories. D. Removal and disposal of roof attic vent caps and patching roof sheathing with new where old caps are removed and no replacement is required. E. Removal and re-installation of existing gutters and downspouts necessary to perform work. Re-install gutters and downspouts with new straps. Install gutters and downspouts with stainless steel fasteners. F. Replace deteriorated roof sheathing as needed, with new 5/8" Fir plywood (or thickness to match existing roof sheathing). Exterior grade Fir plywood with type I waterproof glue, 5-ply minimum, rated for the existing roof framing span shall be required. G. Additional nailing of existing roof sheathing boards, as required to secure and provide correct fastening per current MA Bldg. Code. E. Temporary protection of existing metal step flashing at cheek walls, coordination and integration into new shingle work. F. New neoprene and aluminum boot flashing at plumbing vents. G. Installation of new roof ridge vents, as specified, including cutting roof sheathing or infill existing ridge opening as may be required to provide the correct roof openings required by the vent manufacturer. H. Clean and refasten dislodged or loose existing aluminum metal clad fascia and soffit trim work. Replace up to 10 sf of missing painted aluminum cladding. Match existing white color. I. All work noted on drawings and specifications.
