Directions: Project site is located at the Meadowdale Lateral just south of W 57th Avenue between Grant Street and Harrison Street in the Town of Merrillville, Lake County, Indiana No Pre-Bid Meeting will be held. Option 1: Construction of the North Basin only, as shown in the plans, including all removal, proposed grading and storm sewer construction, and soil erosion measures. Additional Description: Option 2: Construction of the North and South Basins, as shown in the plans, including all removal, proposed grading and storm sewer construction, and soil erosion measures. Each Bid must be accompanied with a Certified Check or Bid Bond for not less than 5% of the total bid amount Before the construction bond shall be released, the Contractor shall file a maintenance bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the contract price, prior to completion and final payment of the contract price, as a guarantee that all workmanship and material furnished by the Contractor under the Contract shall be kept in satisfactory condition for a period of one (1) year, after the date of final acceptance of the work by the Merrillville Stormwater Utility. The surety required upon such maintenance bond shall be any surety company legally authorized to transact business in the State of Indiana. Said bond to be subject to the approval of the Merrillville Stormwater Utility. The work under this contract shall be completed by November 20, 2020 for Option 1. If Option 2 is the chosen bid option, the Completion Date shall be February 26, 2021 for all earthwork and storm sewer installation; final restoration shall be completed and approved by April 30, 2021. Penalties shall be assessed at the rate specified in Section 8-9 of the Division I Specifications. Within ten (10) days after the successful bidder has been notified of the acceptance of its bid, said bidder shall file with the Merrillville Stormwater Utility performance and payment bonds to be approved by said Merrillville Stormwater Utility each in an amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
