Description: The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish a Contract with one (1) qualified and experienced Contractor for Construction of Rolling Road Station Improvements The VRE Rolling Road Station is located on the Manassas Line. The existing 380-foot platform accommodates five-car train sets for boarding and detraining. Passengers must move to different cars for detraining longer eight-car trains. The work includes, but is not limited to, building a 290-foot platform extension to accommodate eight-car trains to eliminate the passenger movement within cars and decrease loading and unloading time. The project also includes rehabilitation and repair of the existing platform, replacement of the stairs and existing canopy roof, and upgrade of the lighting and communication systems. Submission of Written Questions September 1, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. EST. VRE further reserves the right to reject any Bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigations of, such Bidder fails to satisfy VRE that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Contract and to provide the services and/or goods contemplated therein.
