Saving Project...

Renovation of a water / sewer project in Auburn, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The City of Auburn is soliciting Proposals from qualified consulting teams to provide professional services to complete an investigation, evaluation, and planning level alternatives study for the West Main Street Pump Station Upgrade project, CP2304. The purpose of this project is to investigate possible improvements to the stormwater pump station located just south of West Main Street adjacent to SR-167, as defined in the Citys 2015 Comprehensive Storm Drainage Plan, which does not meet current Level of Service (LOS) goals identified in that plan. Currently, the major concern with the system is the rising water levels at the discharge outfall, which can create a circular loop of overflows causing flooding of the area. It is also not currently designed to the Citys level of service standards regarding pump redundancy and capacity to convey the 25-year flow rate. The target completion date for this effort is fall 2023 The projects scope consists of conducting a planning level alternatives design study that addresses the following primary points of concern with the West Main Street storm pump station: Reduce or prevent flooding from Mill Creek backwater flows Verify LOS flow targets through hydraulic modeling of the local subbasin and drainage system Meet the Citys redundancy goal with two or more pumps and/or backup power supplies Relocate the pump station eastward from the present location outside of water inundation area Address pump station and equipment security needs Address lack of a washroom facility The City of Auburn reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals and to waive irregularities and informalities in the submittal and evaluation process. This solicitation for Consultant Services does not obligate the City of Auburn to pay any costs incurred by respondents in the preparation and submission of a Proposal. Questions regarding this solicitation should be directed to Tim Carlaw, Storm Drainage Engineer, by email only at tcarlaw@auburnwa.gov. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
