Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a fire / police facility in Mt Juliet, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; for the addition of a fire / police facility; and for the demolition of a fire / police facility.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department has the desire to expand its police headquarters to include a tornado resistant building for the Emergency Operations Center, Dispatch/Communications Center, along with associated offices within that expansion, which will include a second level for future growth. The expansion should include significantly increasing the size of the evidence storage area that also provides a room to store firearms, a room to store long-term evidence, and a garage to accommodate two vehicles. In addition, the expansion will require additional renovations to the current building to increase the size and redesign of the patrol briefing room, locker room, records office, and lobby. Finally, a detached, 6-bay garage should be built that includes a room and dog kennels to support two canines and a loft area for storage across the rear of the garage bays. In the event of a local or national emergency the addition containing the Emergency Operations Center, Dispatch/Communications Center, along with associated offices, is to function as a self-sufficient operations center. It is designed to be totally and self-sufficient and independent of the main building, in that electric, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, toilets, and kitchenette facilities are all self-contained within the addition. All current IT equipment is to be moved to a new IT room in the addition which will then be the main IT room for not only the addition but the existing facility as well. Additionally, all doors, door frames; all window frames and glass of the addition are to be bullet resistant to Level-4. Roofing components are to be secured to roof structure per Dade County Hurricane Resistant specifications. Existing building without brick exterior should be bricked, consistent with overall building design and esthetics. Security Fencing, consistent with current, existing black metal fencing should be constructed around the new evidence expansion and detached garage area, to include an automatic gate for entry/exit.
