In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for the following categories must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening. Additional prequalification: Water main replacement in an existing residential or commercially developed area. Only contractor prequalification for the 2022 calendar year will be accepted for this bid. The qualifications for the general contractor and all subcontractors to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder's past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and other owners. BID SECURITY Bids must be submitted on the forms furnished by the Township Clerk or the Township Engineers in a sealed envelope marked: BID FOR N.B. GRATIOT AVENUE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT (Quinn Road to 15 Mile Road) A certified check, bank draft, or satisfactory bid bond, executed by the bidder and a surety company, payable to Clinton Township, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount, shall be submitted with each bid. BONDS AND INSURANCE The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and Maintenance and Guarantee Bond of 100% for two years of the Final Contract Price. The cost of the bonds and insurance will be paid by the accepted bidder as an incidental cost to the project.
