Service/repair, maintenance, installation of systems/equipment under this contract shall be the Contractor's responsibility only when specified by HCPS. The Contractor shall follow the operating and maintenance instructions as specified by the respective equipment manufacturer, including all preventative maintenance. The Contractor's technicians (who provide the services) under this contract shall be certified by the manufacturer to maintain the affected equipment. Bid awards shall be to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder that meets specifications with consideration being given to the specific quality of the product, conformity to the specifications, suitability to school needs, delivery terms, qualifications, experience, current and projected work load, and past performance. It is HCPS' intention NOT to award multiple projects, occurring at the same time, to the same bidder. Question End Date 9/23/2021 1:00 PM Each Bid of $300,000 or more shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the cumulative Base Bid amount. By submitting a Bid Bond, the Bidder pledges that, if his PROPOSAL is accepted by the Owner, he will enter into a contract with the Owner on the terms stated in his PROPOSAL and further, that, for projects costing $300,000 or more, he will furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the form required by the Owner, covering the faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder. Should the Bidder refuse to enter into such Contract or fails to furnish such bonds, the amount of the Bid Security shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages, not as a penalty. The Owner has implemented a Small Business Encouragement Program. It is the Owner's goal for a minimum of twenty percent (20%) of the Contract Sum to be apportioned to subcontractors and suppliers currently holding municipal, county or state certification as small business enterprises (SBE). The physical Work shall be substantially completed within fifty-three (53) calendar days following the Date of Commencement and shall be fully completed within thirty-one (31) additional calendar days thereafter. The Owner shall have the right to reject any or all Bids and to reject a Bid not accompanied by an acceptable Contractor's Qualification Statement and Bid Security (when required), or by any other data required by the Bidding Documents, or to reject a Bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular.
