Project includes the demolition of a 16,000 sq ft steel commercial building located on Grand Avenue at the Robert McClory Bikepath in Waukegan, Illinois. The asbestos inspection report identifies a sealant product with asbestos content present at the roof vents on the building. The project also includes the erection and removal of temporary chain link fence, the erection of a 6' wood privacy fence and the acquisition of a Demolition Permit from the City of Waukegan. Traffic Control and Protection is required to temporarily close the bike path. Major pay items include 1 lump sum Building Removal; 1 lump sum Removal and Disposal of Non-Friable Asbestos; 600 feet Temporary Chain Link Fence (Portable); 120 feet Wood Privacy Fence, 6' and 1 each Building Demolition Permit. To bid on this project, contractors shall be required to provide a valid IDOT Certificate of Eligibility and obtain an approved LCDOT Authorization to Bid. The work on this project to be completed by December 30, 2020.
