The location of the work is 528 Bear Valley Avenue, in the City of Shamokin, PA and generally consists of the following: furnish all equipment, labor and materials required to complete the demolition and removal of the existing blighted structures, weatherproofing of existing walls and associated site restoration. Contractors must be able to comply with COVID-19 restrictions by following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Questions regarding the bid or the required documentation to be included with the bid will be accepted by the Engineer until Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at 3 p.m. The Engineer will then issue a final addendum containing all questions received and the corresponding response. A certified check or bank draft payable to the order of the Housing Authority of Northumberland County, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to ten percent of the total of the big, shall be submitted with each bid. The bidder shall include the fully completed Non-Collusion Affidavit with the bid. PA Prevailing Wage Rates and Related Acts apply to this Project only if the bid amount is over $25,000. Bids may be held by the Housing Authority of Northumberland County for up to 60 days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. Grubbing is defined as the removal from below the surface of the natural ground of stumps, roots and stubs, brush, organic materials and debris.
