The work consists of the full depth pavement reconstruction of Oakhurst Lane. Contractors that obtain Contract Documents from a source other than the Issuing Office must notify the Issuing Office in order to be placed on the official Plan Holders List, receive Addenda and other Bid correspondence. Bids received from Contractors other than those on the official Plan Holders list will not be accepted. Please note that all bids must be dropped off to the Borough Municipal Building at the drop box located at the West Central Avenue entrance to the building. Please place all bids in the box no later than 10:30 am. The Clerk will retrieve all bids at 10:30 am and close the bid. Bid Security is required in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid, but not in excess of Twenty-thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) as set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:11-21. Certificate from a Surety Company is required indicating consent to be bound as surety and grantor for performance required under the Contract Documents. Bidders are required to be registered by the New Jersey Department of Labor at the time bids will be received by the owner pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (P.L. 2003, c.91, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.51). Bidders are required to comply with applicable statutory requirements set forth in the Contract Documents including the requirements of P.L. 1975, c. 127(NJAC 17:27) (Affirmative Action) and P.L. 1963, c. 150 (Prevailing Wage) and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 12101, et. Seq.). The Borough of Wharton reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any bid defect where such defect is not detrimental to the best interest of the Borough of Wharton and fairness of the bidding process. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the Contract Documents.
