Generally, this project consists of demolishing existing piping, providing and installing new pool water heater and piping, testing and balance, controls, electric and pads. This project permitting authority is both the Village of Glen Ellyn and Illinois Department of Health (IDPH). As such, this bid package is to be contracted to an IDPH pre-qualified contractor, working as a Prime Contractor managing all trades as required to perform all Work required by the Bidding Documents to be considered responsive. The pool heater installation must be performed by an IDPH approved contractor. Given the IDPH and certified pool consultant process, the College and designer have designated the make and model of the pool heater as the basis of design. Any firm wishing to substitute this product must do so by contacting the purchasing department, providing all comparative information prior to the date designated for the onsite pre-bid meeting. No substitutions will be reviewed after that time. Requests that do not provide ample comparative information will not be reviewed. The Surety issuing the bond must have a general rating of A and shall be a Class V or higher in the financial size category as defined by Bests Key Rating Guide - Property and Casualty. Failure to submit the bid deposit shall constitute an informal Bid and such Bid shall be rejected. A Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cashiers check or certified check in the amount of 15% of the total base bid is required for this project.
