Contract duration: 450 days The work to be performed under this contract includes the construction of 10" sewage force main (approximately 7,200 linear feet), 8" sewage force main (approximately 6,000 linear feet), 4" sewage force main (approximately 4,200 linear feet), 8" gravity sewer (approximately 4,400 linear feet) and manholes, four sewage lift stations, connections to existing residences and all necessary miscellaneous piping, valves, fittings, connections to existing sewer lines, testing and incidental work in accordance with plans and specifications and in such condition as will permit its satisfactory operation. The work is located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. The Contractor shall provide and pay for all labor, transportation, services, power, light, equipment, tools, supplies and all materials and other miscellaneous devices and appurtenances necessary to execute in a complete and workmanlike manner all embraced in the contract documents. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage resulting from his contract operations and shall restore to same condition as existed prior to his work all streets and sidewalks, bridges, fences, buildings, poles, walls, water lines, gas lines, conduits and other surface or subsurface structures without any direct compensation therefore except as otherwise specified. Attention is directed to the location of sanitary sewer gravity lines, gas mains, water lines, power poles, telephone conduits, etc., which are to remain in their present location. In preparation of his bid, the Contractor shall give consideration to the location of all existing and proposed utilities and improvements including fences, culverts, concrete slabs, etc., which are to remain and which, because of their proximity to the new work, create installation problems due to type of equipment, etc., being used by the Contractor; at certain locations the pipe may be installed in ditches and other areas covered with water or subject to such condition after rain. Also in some locations the pipe may be installed below overhead power and telephone wires, necessitating extra caution and adequate bracing of poles where trench for pipe is against face of poles. Such utilities and improvements shall be adequately supported and protected or may be removed and re-installed at Contractor=s option, without compensation in either case. All existing equipment and materials indicated to be removed but not claimed by the Owner shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be legally disposed of off-site.
