Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: 1. Water Improvements of existing system. 2. Remove and replace 8 manholes. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Buffalo or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The City of Buffalo reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Buffalo for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at 4077 Cross Park Drive, Suite 100, Bryan, Texas 77802. Bidding Documents may be viewed and ordered online by registering with the Issuing Office. A performance bond on the part of the contractor for 100 percent of the contract price for contracts in excess of $100,000.00. A performance bond is one executed in connection with a contract to secure fulfillment of all the Contractor's obligations under the contract. A payment bond on the part of the contractor for 100 percent of the contract price for contracts in excess of $25,000.00. A payment bond is one executed in connection with a contract to assure payment as required by law of all persons supplying labor and material in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Bidder hereby agrees to commence work under this contract on or before a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" of the Owner and to fully complete the project within one hundred (100) consecutive calendar days thereafter. Bidder further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $300 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter as hereinafter provided in the General Conditions.
