Demolition and site work for a mixed-use development in Fremont, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

We recommend that if bidders are responding via a delivery service such as US Mail, UPS, FedEx or any way other than personally delivering the bid response that it is done as soon as possible to allow for any delays in the delivery process. On the instructions to your delivery provider please advise of the information below. You may drop off your bid in the days prior to the bid opening between the hours of 9:00 AM and Noon, Monday through Friday at the Delivery Entrance (see below) and on the day of the bid opening up to 2:00 pm. Call 510-494-4622 before delivering to verify someone is on hand to receive. You may come to the Liberty Street entrance where it says Deliveries Only (See map below). The Project is located at two locations: Bill Ball Plaza (PWC8501) at nearest address of 37312 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94536; and Warm Springs Community Park (PWC8833) at 47300 Fernald Street, Fremont, CA 94539, described as follows: BASE BID Warm Springs Community Park Arbor Demolition (PWC8833): The project scope includes the demolition of existing concrete columns and footings, and exposed aggregate concrete pad, and the installation of import topsoil, sod, soil preparation and amendment, and irrigation modifications, and a 30-day plant establishment period, and other such items or details that are required per plans, standard specifications and these special provisions. It is the contractor's responsibility to visit the site to walk the arbor and project site prior to submitting bid Bill Ball Plaza Pergola Demolition (PWC8501): The project scope includes the demolition of three (3) existing wooden pergolas, which includes the "west pergola", "east pergola", and "south pergola". The "central pergola" shall remain in place and protected at all times. The project scope shall also include the removal of wisteria vines, removal of light fixtures and electrical wiring and conduits, removal and re-installation of benches and trash receptacles, and installation of new pavers, and other such items or details that are required per plans, standard specifications and these special provisions. Construction drawings for Bill Ball Plaza Pergola Demolition are provided as record drawings/as-builts. Excerpts from the record drawings, included herein, shall be used as "reference only". Contractor is required to visit the site to walk the pergolas and project site prior to submitting bid. Time for Completion. The planned timeframe for commencement and completion of construction of the Project is: BASE BID Complete the project within a total maximum of thirty (30) working days after the date specified in the City's Notice to Proceed, the number of working days is to include lead times to obtain materials specific to this project. Contractor shall provide a schedule outlining how work shall be completed with the thirty (30) working days allotted for the Base Bid Work prior to the Pre-Construction Meeting. 3.1 License. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classification(s): Class A. Contractors bidding as a joint venture must secure a joint venture license prior to award of the Contract for the Project. 3.2 DIR Registration. City will not accept a Bid Proposal from, or enter into the Contract with, a bidder without proof that the bidder is registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") to perform public work under Labor Code Section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that, upon award of the bid, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, the insurance certificates, and the other documentation required by the Contract Documents, within ten days after City's issuance of the Notice of Award. Performance and Payment Bonds. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price.
