Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
This is pre-qualification of the following scopes of work within the project overview below: Cast in place piling CFA piling (including delegated design) Grade beams and foundations Project Overview The Project is an extension of the existing Metro Line ("Metro Line"). The Metro Line is a 3.3 km high floor, urban style LRT line extending from Churchill LRT Station in downtown Edmonton northwest to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology ("NAIT") campus. The City has committed to moving forward with the Project, which will provide an LRT to Blatchford, a redevelopment project on the former Edmonton City Centre Airport lands, connecting that community to the City's broader LRT network. The Project seeks to meet heightened expectations for urban, architectural and landscape design and promote design and construction that will support the overall sustainability and resilience of the City. The Project includes: An approximate 1,600-metre at grade double-track extension north of the temporary NAIT station to Blatchford; Construction of two new 5-car LRT stations, NAIT/Blatchford Market and Blatchford Gate; Decommissioning and re-purposing the existing temporary 3-car NAIT LRT station; Utility installation, relocation, and protection; Power supply including power distribution, overhead catenary, and utility complexes; Installation of communications systems, train control and signalling; Integration with the existing Metro Line and the balance of the high-floor LRT network; Testing and commissioning; Environmental mitigation; Construction of a 45-car LRV storage facility at a separate site along the Capital Line Northeast within the Montrose Neighbourhood; Retrofits at the existing DL MacDonald LRV Operations and Maintenance Facility to increase fleet maintenance capacity.
