Filter Media Replacement for Six 9' Diameter Hungerford & Terry Filters Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Plan/Specifications may be mailed for an additional nonrefundable mailing fee of $50. The support gravel and filter media system shall be installed in six (6) pressure filters, each measuring 9'- 0" O.D. x 6'-10" straightside. a. Isolate the filters, tag out the valves and drain the filters. b. Remove all existing filter media placed in bags and dispose ofin a proper fashion. c. Remove the existing air wash laterals and support pipes. d. Remove the existing graded gravel bed and dispose ofin a proper fashion. e. Remove and discard the existing permanganate distributors as they will no longer be used. f. Remove and replace the three (3) '/z" Ortho Strainers inside each filter. g. Remove the existing underdrains and dispose ofproperly. (Temporarily cover the underdrain openings.) h. Power wash the interior ofthe filters and remove all standing water and debris. i. Inspect the Inlet Distributors and make repairs, ifnecessary and authorized by the Town. j. Install the new underdrains
