As of 4/1/2021 project was already awarded but amount not available. The City of Cape Coral, Florida will receive Bids for CONSTRUCTION OF FL SUNTRAIL (PHASE 1), ITB-PW20-59/APS. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids/proposals in whole or in part and to waive any irregularities or informalities when in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Cape Coral. These specifications are for a fully engineered clear span bridge of steel construction and shall be regarded as minimum standards for design and construction. Pursuant to Florida State Statute 119.071 (2) Sealed bids, proposals or replies received by an agency pursuant to a competitive solicitation are exempt from s. 119.071(1) and s. 24(a), Art. I of the State Constitution until such time as the agency provides notice of intended decision or until 30 days after opening the bids, proposals, or final replies, whichever is earlier. The project consists of construction of a 12-foot wide multi-use trail on the north side of Van Buren Parkway from Burnt Store Road to El Dorado Boulevard; on the east side of El Dorado Boulevard from Van Buren Parkway to Kismet Parkway; and on the north side of Kismet Parkway from El Dorado Boulevard to Nelson Road; approximately 3.5 miles. Other components include, but not limited to, a new pedestrian bridge (prefabricated steel, clear span over Zanzibar Canal), roadway widening, milling & resurfacing, driveway reconstruction, driveway widening on improved lots, drainage improvements/curb & gutter, utility sleeves & sanitary service laterals under the trail, utility relocations, signing and pavement, permitting, and environmental mitigation.
