This project consists of the construction of two new detention ponds and relocating one existing detention pond. One new pond will be located immediately east of the east baseball field (Ballpark Pond) which is located north of Reynolds Avenue and west of Division. The second pond will be in the Platteville Energy Park (Energy Park Pond) just east of Division and south of Weld County Road 32.5. The project will also include relocating an existing detention pond from the southwest corner of Main Street and Weld County Road 32.5 to the southeast corner of Weld County Road 32.5 and Division. The relocation will require the removal of storm sewer and appurtenances and the installation of new storm sewer, manholes and outlet structure. Sod and topsoil removed from the Ballpark Pond will need to be hauled to the cemetery and stockpiled. Excavated material from the Ballpark Pond and the Energy Park Pond will be hauled to the wastewater treatment plant and spread, compact, and fill the empty cell for future use. All bid proposals must be on the form provided and must be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Town of Platteville negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactorily Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid. Checks accompanying bids not accepted will be returned to the bidders. The selected Contractor will be required to furnish a 100% Contract Performance Bond and a 100% Contract Payment Bond to cover the execution of the Work which shall be in conformity with the Form of Bonds contained in the Specifications and for the Contract Amount. The Work will be substantially completed within 50 consecutive calendar days after the Notice to Proceed and complete and ready for final payment within 10 consecutive calendar days past substantial completion. No bids shall be withdrawn after opening of the bids without the consent of the Town of Platteville, for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of opening bids. As of October 30 2020, this project is under construction. The general contractor has been confirmed.
