Site work and paving for a civil project in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

This contract is for pavement patching and repair of various streets and locations within the City of Raleigh. Estimated locations have been provided as an attachment, within this contract. Locations may be added or deleted by the City as deemed necessary. For additional information, contact Daniel Callahan 919-996-2354 Date Questions Due December 13, 2021 2:00 P.m. No proposal will be considered or accepted unless at the time of its filing, the same shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, or certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC and authorized to do business in North Carolina in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal. In the alternative, a five percent (5%) bid bond issued by a corporate surety licensed by the State of North Carolina may be filed with the proposal. The successful bidder in a formal contract, within ten (10) days after the notice of award is received by him, at the Department of Transportation's request shall provide the City of Raleigh with a contract payment bond and a contract performance bond, each in an amount equal to 100 percent of the amount of the contract Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise The City prohibits discrimination in any manner on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, sex, age or handicap or sexual orientation and will pursue an affirmative policy of fostering, promoting and conducting 10 business with women and minority owned business enterprises. The City has adopted a goal of 15% for participation by small disadvantaged minority and women-owned businesses in order to reach the above stated goal. The Performance and Payment Bonds should be attached to the Contract package. Bonds are required by law on construction and repair contracts subject to formal bidding requirements (N.C.G.S. 143-129 et seq. -- $300,000.00 for construction). They should be signed by the contractor, and his signature should be acknowledged with the appropriate acknowledgement form. Next, the bonds, in approved form, must be signed by the authorized agent of the Surety Company issuing the bonds, and an executed Power of Attorney document authorizing the agent to sign must accompany the bond documents. Bonds should not be dated. Bonds will be dated on or after the Contract date by the City. (Performance and Payment Bonds are not to be included in your bid) The Contractor, at its own proper cost and expense and with skill and diligence, shall furnish all labor, tools, materials and equipment and do all things necessary for the proper construction and completion ready for use of the following improvements: The complete removal of damaged or unsatisfactory asphalt sections across multiple locations within the City of Raleigh. Locations shall be milled/paved full lane width, unless otherwise directed, and stabilized if needed. Undercut may be required in unsuitable soils/conditions. Suitable areas shall be repaved in multiple layers as shown in project details, lines and grades. Patching may include adjustment of utilities, and re-installation of traffic signal inductive loops and/or thermoplastic pavement markings. List of Streets / Locations: 1. Oberlin Rd. 2. Sporting Club Dr Time of Commencement and Completion The entire work required by this Contract shall be completed by the Contractor not later than 10 days after the date of Notice-to-Proceed. All work shall be completed no later than 5 calendar months from the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages are outlined later within these contract documents.
