Notice is hereby given that bids for the City of Richmond WWTP CRITICAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT as described herein will be received electronically. All bid forms must be completed in full and received by the due date and time or the bid will not be considered. Project Description - The WWTP Critical Improvements Project includes the following major elements: New screening and grit removal system to replace the existing, non-functioning grit removal system. Aeration upgrades including replacement of the existing mechanical surface aerators in the aeration basins with a more efficient forced-air diffusion system that includes diffusers and blowers. Demolition of unused solids handling facilities and site preparation for future facilities. Q&A: Oct 9, 2020 5:00 PM The construction cost for this project is estimated to be $38,800,000. However, this estimate in no way prevents the contractor from using their own means and methods to determine the manner in which the work shall be accomplished to: a) mitigate the potential for a Unpermitted Discharges b), provide the site conditions under which the rehabilitative work can be safely and effectively executed and c) can show that the full compliance with the City of Richmond Wastewater Treatment Plant Operational Requirements standards
