The Work includes the following major items: Replacement of approximately 4,300 LF of existing 16-inch DIP force main and gravity sewer with approximately 4,360 LF of new 12-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) force main. In addition to the pipe replacement, this work will include: line stopping, temporary bypass piping, abandonment of gravity sewer manholes and 16-inch piping, reconnecting to the existing 16-inch force main and pressure sewer, a new combination air release and vacuum relief valve housed in a vault, odor control unit, and new isolation valves. Each bid must be accompanied by, and have sealed in the same envelope with the bid, a certified check or bid bond acceptable to the County for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, payable to Anne Arundel County, Maryland; and unless so accompanied, the bid will not be considered. The check or bid bond will be forfeited to the County as liquidated damages in case the contract, performance bond, and labor and materials bonds are not executed within ten (10) days after receiving the contract for execution. Total time for completion, 180 consecutive calendar days. Liquidated damages shall be, 500 dollars per calendar day.
