Renovation of a water / sewer project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Demolish and legally dispose of the existing boiler, gas train, flue pipe, compression tank, control/power wiring, system fluid, and related accessories. Furnish and install new City of Pittsburgh code compliant backflow preventer and makeup water valves. Furnish and install new main power feed disconnect switch. Furnish and install new emergency power off switch adjacent to the boiler room entrance door. Replace existing recirculation pump and flow control valves Install new fresh air intake and flue vent with rain cap. Necessary flashing for penetrations Furnish and install new standalone controls compatible with the selected boiler, CSD-1 PA code compliant. Controls shall have additional dry contacts be capable of sending an alarm signal for remote monitoring. Wiring for the alarm is not part of this scope of work and will be completed by others. Furnish and install new expansion tank and piping. Furnish and install new natural gas fired hot water boiler equal to the existing Teledyne Laars boiler: Model 88100 Input 625,000 BTU/HR Output 487,000 BTU/HR Furnish and install (excluding makeup water) all required chemicals for initial charge of the hot water loop system. Hydrostatically leak test the piping once the installation is complete. Provide a manufacturer trained technician to complete startup of the new boiler system and train PWSA personnel in the operation of the new boiler. Provide boiler certificate of operation and applicable City of Pittsburgh permits if required. Provide one service call for operational inspection 90 days after the boiler is in operation. Include in proposal an allowance for the repair of potential leaks in the loop piping outside of the boiler room. (See bid form for allowance amount. If the allowance is not used the cost will not be billed for as part of the work for this project.) Minimum two (2) year warranty on all parts and labor, also to include one annual service call prior to the start of the following years heating season. Pricing shall be included with price for new boiler. Optional add for extending the warranty three (3) additional years also to include one annual service call per year prior to the start of the heating season for a total of five (5) years of warranty coverage It is the intent of the PWSA to establish a contract to perform/provide removal and disposal of the existing natural gas fired hot water boiler and accessory components as well as furnish and install a new natural gas fired hot water boiler with all required accessory components and controls services/material.he Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, tools, and appurtenances necessary in order to complete the scope of work required. Questions Due Date: September 28, 2020 by 4:00 p.m. BID BOND REQUIREMENTS-N/A PERFORMANCE BOND REQUIREMENT -N/A The PWSA's current goal for Minority Business Enterprise ("MBE"), Women Business Enterprise ("WBE"), Disadvantaged Small Business Enterprise ("DBE"), Small BusinessEnterprises ("SBE") and Veteran Business Enterprise ("VBE")/Service Disabled-Veteran Business Enterprises ("SDVBE") participation is between ten percent (10%) to twenty-five percent (25%) of the total dollar value of the PWSA's contracts.
