The DDC upgrade project consists of upgrading a few of the original Mach-Net primary controllers to Ethernet controllers complete with their subnet VAV controllers to Mach-ProAir BACnet controllers; this will then provide some spare controllers as replacements for both the original Mach-Net controllers as well as the VAV's controllers remaining in the building. There may be some network upgrading required to provide Ethernet connection to the new panels. This would provide a good interim solution to the issues observed with the DDC and to the potential failure of older controllers, until the extent of the required HVAC upgrades stemming from the Carbon Neutral Study are confirmed. The proposed configuration will serve as the foundation to expand on when the major HVAC retrofits are implemented, at which point further upgrade/replacement of the DDC system will be required. Considerations should be given to implement the recommendations identified from the Retro-Commissioning Study and the Smart Building Initiative such as the scheduling of the VAV boxes based on the actual occupancy. Air balancing on zones after the DDC and controls upgrades. TIMELINE: Request for proposals for a consultant was awarded. Schedules for tender and construction have not been made. *Budget is unreleased.
