The project consists of upgrading the existing 277/480 Volt, 3-Phase utility service for increased loads, including coordination with the utility company, furnishing and installing underground conduits with conductors from existing service entrance equipment to the motor control center, demolishing existing motor control center and replacing with new motor control center, furnishing and installing electrical conduit and wiring required for connection of existing pumps, and the installation of temporary construction power required by the General Contractor and Sub-Contractors during the construction period. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside the name of the bidder, his/her address, contractor's state license number and the name of the project for which the bid is submitted. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to the Ascension Parish Purchasing Department, 615 E. Worthey, Gonzales, Louisiana (P.O. Box 2392, Gonzales, Louisiana 70707), mailed certified mail and must be received no later than the bid opening. Contractors desiring to bid shall submit to the Engineer, with their request for Contract Documents, contract documents deposit and evidence that they hold State License of proper classification and in full force and effect. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Total Bid must accompany each Bid, and shall be made payable to the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof. All questions regarding this project and the bid package shall be submitted to the Purchasing Department via purchasing@apgov.us by 4:00 PM on Tuesday October 20, 2020. Responses will be coordinated with the Project Engineer and posted on online by 4:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2020. The Parish of Ascension reserves the right to disqualify any Bid, response to a Request for Qualifications, or Request for Proposals if it is determined that the submitting business entity is not in good standing with the Louisiana Secretary of State or is not authorized to do business in the State of Louisiana. Ascension Parish Government reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause.
